Customer Service Tip of the Week: Thank You Notes

Your employees work hard everyday, especially in a call center. There is often a high volume of calls, often with customers who are disgruntled. Call center agents work very hard and often times, their work goes unoticed. Many people, not just call center agents, would love to be recognized by their supervisors for a job well done. Non-monetary recognition goes a lot further than you think.

Companies that make customer service a priority create and uphold a set of standards that all agents should follow as to give customers an impeccable and uniform experience. Every business is different but we have identified a few customer service tips that can be used with any company and will be sharing one every week.

Thank you note

Roughly 39% of employees feel underappreciated at work, with 77% reporting that they would work harder if they felt better recognized.1 It takes little to no time to write your high performing employers short thank you notes. This is something that can be done at the end of your day to recognize an employee who has been doing an outstanding job. It is inexpensive and effective. Properly structured incentive programs can increase employee performance by as much as 44%. 2  A little bit goes a long way when trying to achieve the goals that you put in place. Next time you are trying to jumpstart employee morale, try writing personal thank you notes; you will not regret it.
