2020 Deskless Workforce Learning and Development Stats

During this COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a lot of discussion around the move to a remote workforce. Prior to the pandemic, Google estimated that 80 percent of the global workforce was made up of employees without a desk or dedicated computer, also known as deskless workers or the mobile workforce. These employees are essential to today’s economy. These are workers who do much of their professional work with a mobile device instead of a laptop computer and who are often on the go (e.g., engineers, nurses, laboratory, factory, retail and construction workers) had a lot to say about the response to COVID-19, their outlook on the future and their needs on-the-jobs.
