Paul Magel

Paul Magel, who joined CGS in 1997, has more than three decades of experience in the information technology space. Leading the Application Solutions division at CGS, Mr. Magel oversees the company’s flagship BlueCherry Enterprise Suite of solutions for the fashion, apparel and consumer lifestyle products industry as well as the Technology and Infrastructure practice overseeing sales, delivery, support and development. Mr. Magel is also responsible for the CGS Global Software Development Centers in Europe and India and the recent expansion of the BlueCherry solutions business in Europe and Canada. 

Since leading the Application division, the company has grown from a single order-to-cash system to a complete end-to-end supply chain solution, encompassing ERP, PLM, planning, manufacturing, logistics, B2B eCommerce, shop floor control, warehousing and collaborative supply chain management.

For more than 10 years, Mr. Magel has served on the International Trade and Marketing (ITM) Advisory Board of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), SUNY. He also serves on the Selection Committee of the Polo Ralph Lauren "New Times Group" scholarship, awarded to students with a strong scholastic record and visible volunteer work at ITM, FIT, the industry and the community. He is a noted speaker at such industry program as Apparel Executive Conference and the AAFA Executive Summit. He has been interviewed and quoted on a number of topics ranging from sustainability to retail and supply chain solutions in such publications as WWD, The Observer, Retail Dive, eCommerce Times, Supply Chain Executive and CIO

Prior to CGS, Mr. Magel was VP of Corporate Development at Comtex Systems, responsible for the consulting business, marketing, corporate communications and business development. Before that he was a technical director at Information Builders, a large software company, leading product management, product development and QA for its midrange systems product. He began his career at IBM, while still in college, and went on to hold various technical positions before moving into sales and marketing.

He holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and an MBA in Marketing and Executive Management.
